- Each franchise can retain six players, four capped and two uncapped, through the retention phase or the Right-To-Match (RTM) card. The price of the capped player should be ₹18, ₹14, ₹11, ₹18 crore, and for the two uncapped players, the price should not increase ₹4 crore INR.
- The RTM option will remain for the mega IPL auction.
- A team can choose a maximum of 25 players in its full squad, including 8 overseas players.
- The Impact Player rule will stay in effect until the 2027 season.
- Overseas players can only register for the IPL mega auction instead of the mini-auction.
- The unavailability of overseas players for no reason should be banned for the next two years.
- Each team will have a budget of INR 120 crore.
- The management can use this budget to complete their playing xi with at least 3 bowlers, 3 batsmen, 1 all-rounder, and 1 wicketkeeper.
- The team can consume a maximum of 75% of its auction budget to form its team.
- Before the auction, management must complete the retained trading, and after the trading in the auction, each team should announce their complete squad.
