Sajid Khan’s Outstanding performance Breaks Longstanding Record Against England

Sajid Khan, Pakistan’s new spin bowling star, is making his record in the ongoing 2nd test against England. He has named 8 wickets already, while 7 wickets in only an inning. England has only two days to chase the target, and the skipper does not look to hand them over the series easily.

There is always so much hard work and struggle in a cricketer’s life to reach a higher position. Pakistani spinner Khan’s story is similar to a fairytale. He didn’t achieve this record in just a day, or he didn’t get any recommendations, but he made it possible for his performance to speak. Now, he is taking revenge on the England batsmen in the ongoing second test match, which is being played in Multan.

Sajid Khan Breaks Saqlain Mushtaq’s Record

Pakistan’s off-spinner Sajid Khan has made history by taking five wickets in the second Test match against England at Multan Cricket Stadium and breaking a 24-year-old record of legendary cricketer Saqlian Mushtaq.

Saqlain Mushtaq was the last off-spinner to take five wickets in Pakistan and achieved this record against the same team, England, in Rawalpindi. To achieve this record, Sajid Khan did many odd jobs to maintain his career and passion for cricket. His late father left this world when he was a young boy. He used to sell smartphones and even alternated the bat grips and handles to earn money for cricket.

Khan played his first-class match in 2016 at the age of 23, but it was not easy to get the chance again as he was dominated by too many talented players in the Peshawar team, who were all competing for a place in 11.

Furthermore, he visited the UAE (Dubai) for a few months, where he worked at the airport and practised cricket on weekends. For today’s record on a huge platform against England, Sajid Khan dedicated this success to his mother, as he mentioned that without his mother’s support, he wouldn’t be able to achieve where he is right now.

Once, Sajid Khan used to borrow shoes from his Peshawar teammate, Imran Khan Sr., to play cricket. He also came to the news during the Qauid e Azam trophy. In the season 2020-2021, he was nominated as the best bowler of the tournament.

Later, in 2021 he made his debut for Pakistan in test cricket versus South Africa. But he got attention in the series against Bangladesh in December. He achieved 8 wickets in an inning and 12 wickets in the whole match.  Now, in the second test against England, Sajid Khan knocked out 8 players, 7 in an inning. Furthermore, England needed 261 runs to win the test but the 31-year-old needed to show his magic again to stop the opposite team from winning the series.
