When the PSL adventure began, it was like a big global party with about 20 groups from all over the world eager to be part of the excitement in the league’s very first season. Fast forward to PSL 2016, where the first five teams found new owners. In PSL 2016 five teams were sold for a total sum of 93 million dollars approximately. In the PSL 2017 action, Multan Sultan was like the new kid on the block, and the PCB asked for bids to see who’d take it under their wing. Schon Properties snagged it first for around $5.2 million, making it the priciest team in PSL at the time. But hold on, there were some payment hiccups, and the organizers had to reset the button. Round two: Multan Sultan was up for grabs again, and this time, Ali Khan Tareen swooped in and secured it for $6.35 million, signing on for a seven-year cricket journey.

The team’s in good hands, owned by Leonine Global, thanks to Ali Naqvi and Amna Naqvi. What makes IU stand out? Well, they snatched victory in the first PSL season, surprising everyone despite a shaky start, and took down Quetta Gladiators in the final. And guess what? They did it again in the third season, bagging their second title by defeating Peshawar Zalmi in the final. So, if you’re talking PSL success, Islamabad United is the name to remember with those two shiny trophies in their cabinet!

Led by Darren Sami, the head coach of Peshawar Zalmi is Daren Sammy, with Saqlain Mushtaq as the Spin bowling coach and Younis Khan as a Batting Coach. Wahab Riaz is the leading wicket ticker, and Alex Hales is the leading run-scorer.

The team owner signed up with the former Ireland female cricketer Catherine Dalton as bowling coach for the first time in PSL history.
