After an incredible victory in the test series against England, The Pakistan Cricket Board announced a central contract for the men’s team. This central contract has been awarded for 12 months as per last year’s contract structure, and 25 men’s cricket players are included for the 3-year period, which will take effect from July 2024.
PCB Announced New Players for Central Contract
Pakistan Cricket Board announced and included five new players for the first time in this contract. It is good to see that new players availed a chance to showcase their talent and skills in this upcoming international season with this contract. The new players’ names and those added for the first time in the central contract are listed below.

- Mohammad Ali
- Muhammad Irfan Khan
- Usman Khan
PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi arranged a press conference today and appreciates the whole team for this passionate victory against England. Sajid Khan and Noman ALi are especially credited for their brilliant performance, as well as the team captain and other players. Mohsin Naqvi also appreciates the team selection committee for the well-balanced squad and hopes they will continue this form and will show the same performance in the future.

Today, Oct 27, In his media talk, Mohsin Naqvi talked about Babar Azam, who had skipped Captaincy of the white ball team on his own will, nobody from PCB or any other person forced him to do it. Babar Azam discussed with seniors and team coaches and left off further from team captaincy. The chairman also said we will wait for Babar Azam to regain his form and get back to lead the team shortly.

PCB Central Contract Losers and Winners
Let’s discuss which players lose, win and retain their names in the central contract.
Winners:
- Shan Masood was added from the D to B category.
- Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Usman Khan and Muhammad Irfan Khan won and were added to the contract for the first time.
Losers:
- Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf are demoted to down categories from A to B and B to C, respectively.
- Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq lost the contract as they were added to last year’s contract in the B category.
Retained:
Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are still in the top category A.
